Jirayr Shahrimanyan

Jirayr Shahrimanyan (b. 1988) is a native of Yerevan, Armenia. Jirayr began his musical education at the age 7 when he entered the Avet Gabrielyan music school (N12), where he studied piano and composition. He also studied composition and music theory privately with Martun Israelyan. He holds degrees from Yerevan State Conservatory (Bachelor's in Composition, 2009; Master's in Composition, 2010). 

Mr. Shahrimanyan's music has been performed internationally by such ensembles as Sinfonia Toronto, New Trombone Collective, Trio Terroir, organist Dragen Trajer, flautist Narek Avagyan, and pianist Hayk Melikyan. His works have also received numerous awards and honors from the 1900+ World Piano Music Competition, the Aram Khachaturian International Competition, the National Competition, the Swiss-Armenian Competition, the Slide Factory International Music Festival, and the World Armenian Congress. 

Jirayr Shahrimanyan has been a member of the Composer's Union of Armenia since 2013.
